You never had to say "Smile" or "Say Cheese" when taking a picture of Darren. His smile was always there... always radiant...always infectious! Somebody's having a good time in Heaven! :)  On Sunday, July 16, 2000, Glen Helen Raceway in Devore, California, hosted a memorial motocross race in Darren's honor. The event was sponsored by Honda/Yamaha of Redlands, and organized by Darren's close friend and race mentor, Kurt Lemke. 14 of Darren's closest friends participated on bikes that day. Darren's family was represented there by his mother Linda, step-father Neil, and step-brother Trevor. Special memorial stickers were given to each racer for his motorcyle. The flag was lowered to half-mast, as Darren's friends mounted their motocycles and paced the track in Darren's memory. Kurt rode the bike that Darren raced with, #82...while Darren's friend Kyle Dykes was attired in Darren's racing gear. Among Darren's other friends riding in the pace lap were Darren's lifelong, best friend, Cory Heenan, and good friend and housemate, Nathan Haskins. Darren's family wishes to thank everyone involved for loving Darren and honoring him in an event he truly loved! Our love goes out to all of you! At a recent San Bernardino Stampede baseball game (The Dodger's farm team)...the team stood on the third base line, covered their hearts with their hats, and observed a moment of silence in Darren's honor. Rosa Maria's Mexican Restaraunt chain has decorated their drag race car's (See Photo) with the "In Memory of Darren Bolton" stickers, and have dedicated their future races to him. And the same stickers, which were lovingly made by Darren's cousin Todd, have been seen on Darren's friends and family's cars throughout the community.   On Saturday, September 23, a group of Darren's friends and family got together and went to the Creed/Collective Soul concert at Verizon Amphitheatre in Irvine. It was an adventure, getting lost on the way and several other comedic events which we shall remain silent about! Creed was one of Darren's favorite bands, and so the night was indeed a tribute to Darren, and his memory was shared among all of us who attended the concert. Collective Soul and Creed both put on great shows...and some of the songs were tough, songs like Arms Wide Open...that brought tears to the eyes of those that loved Darren. These songs had special meaning to all of us. After the show, the parking lot was crowded, and so the gang decided to hold a wild little tailgate party! All in all, it was a great night, a lot of fun, good music, great company, and a chance for all of us to share our memories of Darren. Here are some photos that Sally took that night! In honor of his birthday, his mother, Linda, planned a party at her house. The turn out was good, and a great time was had by all who could make it. Darren's Uncle Jeff brought his car back home after all of the repairs Darren had wanted were completed. The car looked great and sounded sweet! A lot of us had the opportunity to meet others that we had only spoken to through this website...and it was good putting faces to the names! Rebecca Baumann was kind enough to hand out some great Darren Tribute CD's...and they went fast! Linda, in her usual fashion, made sure there was plenty of pizza, chips and dip, popcorn and things to drink! And of course, the evening would not have been complete without repeated playings of Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby!" It was great to see all of Darren's good friends and family in one place again...and everyone had a ball. Thanks to Linda and Neil for being the world's best hosts! Home At Last Click to view! (Please be patient, may take a few minutes to download!)  On a beautiful summer day, several associated car clubs participated in a benefit car wash in Darren's memory. The car wash was held at the Big K Mart parking lot in Redlands, and the turn out was tremendous! Cars were lined up and parked double, and there was no break in sight for those that worked hard at getting all the cars done! There was a steady stream of hot looking cars to be scrubbed...with several complete car clubs showing up for a wash! Darren's mother, Linda, his sister Misty, and many of his friends showed up to help out. Darren's recently completed Acura was on display, and it looked great! The proceeeds went to benefit the Darren M. Bolton Scholarship fund...and the event was a huge success! Thanks to all of those that organized, promoted and participated in this awesome tribute.
